County fire fighters feted; several honored

Turner County Fire Rescue held its annual Christmas Dinner and Awards Banquet on December 15th, 2014. The dinner for the firefighters and spouses is held to show appreciation for their response throughout the year, the firefighters respond at no charge to Turner County taking time away from their families at all hours. Chief Royal stated that there would not be a Turner County Fire Department if not for the dedicated firefighters volunteering their time! Walt Whitehead was awarded 2014 Firefighter of the Year, Jonathan McIntosh was awarded 2014 Engineer of the Year, Blair Veazy the 2014 Response Award, Dennis Higgins received The Fire Chief’s Award for assistance above and beyond to Turner County Fire Rescue and Chief Robby Royal. Anytime you see a firefighter, please thank them for their service to Turner County.
